From May 28th to June 1st 2025, CDC Festival returns to Berlin as the meeting point of Black dance cultures, streetdance and Afrodiasporic creativity in Europe.

Under the motto “Connecting The Movement”, Europe’s most conscious festival for Afrodiasporic dance cultures will again become a place where artists from Africa, the Caribbean and the diaspora will meet to connect and express in a most authentic way. At CDC, dance is not only seen as an art form but recognised as a cultural force – a means of resistance, identity and joy.

Organised by a predominantly Black team, CDC Festival understands what it takes to create spaces that empower artists and our community. We build environments where everyone – whether creating, sharing or participating – can feel safe, seen and celebrated.

Over five days, the festival will bring together a unique community for dance workshops, reflection & empowerment sessions, battles, a performance night, a dance theater show, a conference and parties celebrating different modern African dances, Dancehall and other streetdance styles.

“Connecting The Movement” is about honouring the deep roots of Black dance cultures and coming together as one. By exploring connections across different Black dance cultures CDC Festival does not just highlight shared values and history but also aids in building bridges for the future.
